I am Shubhra Chhazed, a 2nd MBBS student of MGIMS, Wardha.
2.So, when all of this is new and the rest of us are still busy figuring the head and tail of the subject, how did you tackle and master the syllabus?
It would be wrong to say I mastered the 3 subjects I believe, I have just grasped some basics of the subjects given short time span! The books that I referred:

Physiology:Guyton
3.Did you have a set schedule, a time table that you stuck to? What were the daily hours that you put in self study ?
I studied throughout the year, small topics each day, few concepts at a time. So, 3-4 hrs of self study daily helped me recollect matter at time of exams when the entire syllabus had to be tackled.
4.Did you have a different methodology of tackling the subjects? Any special notes that you prepared?
Not a strategy as such but yes,
I used to do group study for anatomy like studying bones together really helped, discussing with teachers and peers at the time of dissection. Also I used teach the topics I found difficult to my friends, and thus it helped me clear my understanding.
5.Do you have any special pointers for specific subjects? The do’s and don’ts of it?
Yes,mostly class notes and self made notes while reading.

I could not give sufficient time for reading physiology as anatomy consumed most of my time. So I would suggest prioritizing to physiology is a wise thing to do.
Simultaneous solving of mcqs is a must.
7.Was there any help that you acquired while exam preparation? Like any visual aids any professional guidance? Or those little tit bits that the professors tell us but none other than the toppers pay attention to? Please share with us.
Yes,embryology videos are really helpful for visual understanding.
Always pay attention to points that professors repeat in class or practicals as they are usually the frequently asked viva or theory questions.
8.How vital is the Question bank during exams? Does it come highly recommended or you advice thorough reading of the text and having confound knowledge of the subject?
Yeah, last 10 yrs question papers. It helps a lot to get an idea of the exams, you can predict the questions beforehand if u smartly analyse the past yrs papers.
9.How do you propose the students study and what kind of discipline should be followed during exam time?
Solving past yrs paper is vital when you have just a month left for your exams, otherwise throughout the year non selective complete n thorough reading of text is must.
10.Could you give some important pointers on Exam writing skills? And also how should one prepare for a practical exam?
It’s important to underline stuff that u feel uplifts your ans, drawing clear and labeled diagrams, flow charts is always enhancing to your paper.
Lastly a neatly written paper often fetches good marks!
11.So, do you have any parting thoughts? Like disclosing that secret mantra that you chanted or that special brand of energy drink you savored? Just seriously though..anything at all?
Never leave any question unanswered even if u do not know much about it. Also attempting long questions first was my way of satisfactorily completing my paper on time.
