How to prepare for Community dentistry Practical exams
In Community dentistry, You’re supposed to have two different patients as a long case and a short case.
♦ My personal opinion- if you have an option of presenting the WHO form, please go for it.
It’s the most difficult looking but easiest thing to do.
♦ Indices mainly have this interexaminer variations, what you saw, the examiner might see differently!
♦ Certainly, some things are obvious but some indices like gingival or plaque index are highly variable.
♦ You should know the ORAL HYGIENE instructions well. You should be able to demonstrate them if asked.
♦ You either do fluoride or sealant as your short case.
♦ Know about the indications of both, as they’re frequently asked.
♦ You should know why is your patient indicated for the desired treatment.
♦ Dates are very important in CD. Who invented what in which year, you must know for your viva!
